It took the builders around twenty five years to complete this masterpiece of ecclesiastical design, situated at the very heart of the city. Opened in 1750, the church has since that time served as the primary place of worship for the people of the community. In the following century, several major additions were made to the structure, making it one of the most impressive manmade structures in the area.
