On this site there was once a garrison base where army personnel would live and work. However at the start of the 20th Century, Eugene Lux, the town architect was given the responsibility of creating a replacement building next to the palaces of justice. He built an exhibition hall, and the design has become one of the most famous in the city. A huge baroque facade, it stands out in one of the central squares and oozes class and architectural majesty.
