La Sainte-Chapelle is French for the Holy Chapel, and is located on the Isle de Cite in central Paris, close to Notre Dame Cathedral, and represents what is considered to be one of the high points of Gothic architecture in the country. The beautiful place of worship attracts visitors throughout the year, and was built in a five year period between 1241 and 1246 under the orders of the then French King Louis IX.
