This most beautiful of squares, was commissioned by Henry IV, king of France, in celebration of his son, the then Dauphine, who would go on to be Louis VIII. Tucked away to the east of Pont Neuf, the square is extremely stylish, a series of symmetrical lines, surrounded by red brick buildings. The area is popular with locals who like to play bowls in the centre of the square, take a good book, sit back and relax; its the perfect place to watch the world go by.
