Just like the Grand Palais that stands opposite, this beautiful building was designed and built for the great World Exposition of 1900. Recently it has been through an extensive refurbishment and is more striking than ever. Within the grand walls is the fantastic Museum of Fine Arts of Paris which is a large collection of paintings and sculptures from across the globe. Mainly the focus of the gallery is on French and European artists from the last five hundred years.
