Built between 1679 and 1706, this magnificent church was one of the many great buildings that were commissioned by King Louis XIV. The church was originally used solely by the king as a private place of worship, but soon became associated with the long military history of the country, providing a resting place for many great war leaders. The superb example of baroque design towers above the buildings in the area and is one of the most popular churches in the area.
