This church is a fine example of one that has developed over a period of centuries. It is thought that the work was started on the magnificent building in around the 13th Century and it continued to develop well into the 17th Century. There is significant evidence of the English occupation of the town in the Tudor style to the church, which makes it quite unique compared to most centrally located French churches.
