Gallo-Roman Amphitheatre
Rue du Moulin à Huile, Béziers 34500 - France

Map

It wasn’t until 1992 that the Gallo-Roman Amphitheatre was excavated and a real gem in the historical architecture of the city of Béziers was rediscovered. It is believed that the site was used as a quarry for about five centuries from the 10th to the 15th Century. There are many interesting buildings that have obviously grown up around the site. You can marvel at the stone terraces that once would have been filled with cheering fans watching sporting events unfold in this magnificent arena.
