This museum is dedicated to the history of the city. Orléans has a long and varied history which dates back many thousands of years to early settlements that would be unrecognisable in the city today. As the city has grown in size and importance, there have been some interesting and important figures that have passed through it, not least Joan of Arc. The town museum is filled with documents and artefacts that help to bring the history of the area alive without being boring or stuffy.
