This flamboyant Gothic cathedral at the heart of Orléans is definitely one of the most impressive buildings in the city. It was built under the orders of Henri IV and took several decades of hard work to design in the 1600s. Several pieces were added to the church in the 19th Century, including the great western facade and a great deal of the best stained glass in the lower area of the nave. This glass tells the story of Joan of Arc, one of the bravest and most celebrated characters in French history.
