This quite amazing replica of the Luxor obelisk in Paris was the work of well known sculptor Penchaud. It stands at the centre of a main roundabout in the city and is well loved by local people. The piece was made popular by Napoleon after he returned back from campaigns in Egypt. Originally housed at the Palace of Mazargues, this is why the sculpture is named so. The artwork attracts visitors from across the region to admire the fine stonework.
