The city of Marseille is linked to the sea through many thousands of years of history. It has always held an important place in the trading between Africa, Asia and Europe. This museum was established by the Trade and Industry Department of the Marseille government. It helps visitors to understand the way that both the port and the associated industries have shaped the city. There are many models, artefacts and engravings on display.
