Designed by Pierre Puget in the 17th Century, this building is one of the finest examples of religious architecture in the city of Marseille. A series of arches along the side of the building make it quite a unique sight in this area of town. Originally the purpose of the centre was to house orphans and refugees in the city, but it has been tuned into a multi-disciplinary centre of culture. It houses the Museum of Africa and the Museum of Oceanic Studies.
