Jacques Groslot, one of the more famous men to have been associated with the administration of the city in Orléans, had this house built for him and his family in 1550. One of the more beautiful examples of regional architecture, his family lived in the house until the late 1700s. The French Revolution saw the lavish building turned into the town hall, but also unfortunately some damage. The main contents of the building now date from about 1850 and are open to the public to tour.
