This particular incarnation of the museum was established on the site of the former Abbey of Saint Martin in the heart of the city, but the museum has a history that goes back until the French Revolution. The point in the establishment is that it allows the display of the most beautiful creations that can come from the human mind and celebrates the great diversity and ingenuity of humankind through exhibits.
