At the very heart of the old city in Béziers you will come across a whole host of ancient and well preserved buildings. A walk down the Rue des Balances transports you back in time to many hundreds of years ago when Béziers was a very different place, thriving with trade rather than tourists. This particular mansion house is one of the best looking in the area, dating from the 16th Century it has been renovated on several occasions including a full makeover in the late 19th Century. The best features include the archway at the front, the courtyard and the amazing listed staircase.
