Sadly, the original house in which Joan of Arc stayed in 1429 was destroyed during the fighting in the Second World War, even after it was put on rails and moved out of the city centre for safety. This reconstruction of the 15th Century house is made of wood like the original and a great deal of care and attention has been taken to ensure that it is as close to the actual house in every way as is possible. The house has within it a fine museum and exhibition dedicated to the life and works of the young warrior and martyr.
