Situated on the Kennedy Promenade, close to some of the most immaculate beaches in the Mediterranean, this monument is one of the best known and loved in Marseille. An old ships propeller, it was erected in 1971 in memory of those who were repatriated to North Africa. The sculpture was designed by the world famous Cesar, and marks the great multi-cultural influence on the city thanks to the North African influx in the 1960s.
