Antoine de Galbert provided the initial collection and impetus to set up this contemporary art gallery, at the very centre of the city. The museum is now regarded as one of the finest collections of contemporary art work, paintings and sculptures, in the whole of France, if not the world. The gallery has a vast collection of work by a range of well know artists spanning the 20th Century. The centre also has large bookshop and café.
