This centre is without a doubt one of the most important artistic and cultural venues not only in Marseille but anywhere in France. Housed in the enormous remains of a tobacco factory the idea behind the centre is to promote art and culture for everyone in a place that will feed from its own artistic energy. There are performances of theatre, music and dance as well as an endless set of exhibitions of art and sculpture on display at this centre which is open to the public.
