One this beautiful square was one of the central trading places in the city, the home of the fruit and vegetable market in Marseille. However today it is one of the most beautiful and well kept public gardens in the city. The area has become one of the artistic and music capitals of the region, and is teaming with fashionable bars and cafes and later nightclubs. Tourists and locals alike mingle in this area enjoying the beautiful juxtaposition between nature and the man made.
