Although a recent addition to the city, the Millennium Clock has fast become part of city life in the busy and vibrant community of Amiens. The clock was designed to act as a lasting reminder and celebration of the new millennium in the year two thousand. A modern timepiece, some were concerned when it was constructed that it wouldn’t fit in with the local ancient streets and monuments, but it was almost immediately accepted as being an instant classic in the town.
