It is suggested that this amazing Gothic structure was begun in 1220 to house the head of St. John the Baptist. Whether this is true or not, over a period of several hundred years, one of the finest cathedrals in France was created. It is worth noting a couple of exceptional features, including the bronze figures of bishops and the 16th Century choir stalls. Inside the central nave there is a two hundred plus metre long maze set into the floor for visitors to follow.
