This imposing castle looms over the old town areas of Annecy. The construction was begun in the 13th Century and for three hundred years the building was developed and added to; creating the magnificent chateau that exists today. Within the chateau is a very interesting museum which is dedicated to the local area. There are examples of local crafts, natural history exhibits and throughout the year the museum is treated to a range of visiting exhibits from across the country.
