The order was given to construct this fine bridge by Napoleon III in 1852, and it took until 1870 to complete the impressive structure. It comprises a series of arches that snake across the River Seine, making for one of the busiest crossing points on the river. A good view can be obtained fro the centre of the bridge on a clear day, with many of the landmarks on show as a great photo opportunity.
