The Palace of Luxembourg is situated at the northern end of these amazing gardens in central Paris. The palace was built for Marie de Médicis the consort of Henri IV of France. It was meant to be based on the palace that Marie grew up in at the heart of Florence in Italy. The amazing fusion of French and Italian styles has made it a place that Parisians and visitors have flocked to see for many generations, an iconic symbol of this area of the city.
