The Opera Garnier is one of the most spectacular buildings in Paris. Constructed in 1862, and named after the chief architect, the building was immortalised by the Phantom of the Opera. An exciting mixture of architectural styles, the building has hints of Napoleonic, baroque and the gothic. Inside, visitors are treated to an astounding array of mosaics and a charming rococo staircase. Performances take place at this great venue on a regular basis throughout the year.
