The playing card is often something that is overlooked in artistic terms, but at this museum, the exhibition attempts to trace back the history of the item. There are many different types of playing card on display, showing the development of the idea from its very earliest form to the most modern of sets. The artistic input on some sets of specialist cards makes them great artworks in their own right, and a beautiful thing to see.
