The Louvre is the oldest art gallery and museum in the world, and arguably one of the most famous cultural hubs on the planet. Located at the centre of Paris, between the River Droite and the River Seine, the museum was once a royal palace and is steeped in both political and artistic history. Famed for containing such great works of art as Leonardo da Vinci’s Mona Lisa and Antioch’s Venus de Milo, the gallery remains one of the most visited attractions in France.
