The Jardin des Tulleries was commissioned by Queen Catherine de Medicis in 1564, at the same time as the palace of the same name, which was latterly destroyed. The gardens are some of the most central and best known in Paris. Stretching from the Place du la Concorde to the Louvre, these gardens are the perfect place to take a break from the busy sightseeing schedule that Paris imposes upon any visitor. Sit back amongst fountains and shrubs, relax and watch the world go by.
