Nellie Jacquemart gave up painting when she got married, but she continued to have a great love and passion for art. Her and her husband traveled Europe, collecting a massive array of artworks, sculptures and artefacts during the 19th Century. In 1869, her husband commissioned the building of this charming house that has become a museum dedicated to his wife and the large collection of art that they collected. It is one of the most popular and eclectic art museums in this are of the city.
