It is within these central areas of Marseille that the famous literary scene of the region began and developed during the days of the Enlightenment. This interesting centre is dedicated to the study of poetry and the related art forms that have inspired generations of local people. Open to the public and housed in the marvellous old monastery on the corner of Rue de la Charite, there are exhibitions and displays that will entertain and excite any literary enthusiast.
