The Fine Arts Museum of Marseille boasts an impressive public collection of art, from many centuries of painters. It concentrates on some of the best known French painters, but has a large collection of European artists, from the renaissance and beyond. The museum is housed in the beautiful Palace of Lonchamps and is open to the public throughout the year. From time to time other visiting collections complement the large permanent collection.
