Guignol is the most famous puppet ever to have been created, and he was created in Lyon in 1908 by Laurent Mourguet. The creation of this puppet inspired the street theatre tradition that quickly bloomed across the city with Guignol and his many friends being at the very heart of this tradition. The museum examines the life of the famous puppet makers, performers and has a large collection of puppets that have been collected from across the globe.
