The Department Building is a good looking structure in the Saint Just area of the city. It was designed by an English architect called Will Alsop and has received many compliments throughout the year from architectural enthusiasts for the bold use of materials and styles. The centre is used on a regular basis to host exhibitions of a relatively eclectic nature, showcasing local arts and crafts talent as well as theatre, music and comedy from time to time.
