This beautiful cathedral was designed in the early 19th Century and took a few years to build. It was once, quite bizarrely going to be known as St. Napoleon Church, but this idea was scrapped fairly quickly after the demise of the great military leader. The church is a good example of ecclesiastical architecture of this period in the area. Many of the carved stones were mined locally and internally the building has been spared a great deal of attention to detail.
