This beautiful church was built in 1588 on the site of an old priory and is one of the oldest remaining ecclesiastical structures in this central section of the city. For centuries local people have come here to worship within the wonderfully crafted stone cloisters and admire the external and internal care that has been taken by the architects. The church was expanded in the 19th Century to cope with the fast population growth in the city and soon it received its finest moment when Chopin performed at the church.
