This far north-eastern corner of Paris probably wouldn’t be a great deal of interest to tourists if it wasn’t for the large Parc de la Villette. Set over thirty five hectares, the beautiful piece of open parkland opened in 1993 and is therefore a fairly modern addition to the area. A canal runs through the centre of the park which is beautifully shaded by mature trees and been laid out to provide an oasis of calm within one of the biggest cities in Europe.
