The Museum of Marseille History is a large public museum, located close to the centre of the oldest part of the city. The exhibits within the museum chart the long and interesting history of this vast city on the Mediterranean coast. The second largest city in France, after Paris, Marseille has enjoyed a rich and colourful history which has been driven by its position as one of the major sea ports between Africa, Asia and Europe. The museum is full of interesting artefacts and documents.
