The Mediterranean Archaeology Museum is second only in size and importance to the Louvre in Paris when it comes to this field of study in France. The vast museum is located in some of the areas around the old monastery on this site. The collection is probably most famous for the extremely impressive array of Egyptian artefacts that have been perfectly preserved and displayed in the museum. There are of course many other pieces that have been collected from across the globe.
